E-prescriptions to be available in every doctor’s office by year-end, VsZP says

Slovakia’s largest public health insurance provider, Vseobecna Zdravotna Poistovna (VsZP), estimates that its patients will be able to receive e-prescriptions in all doctor’s offices and outpatient facilities by the end of 2018, news agency TASR reported.

The insurer also plans in the future to widen services associated with e-prescriptions by providing, for example, information on drug interactions.

Slovakia’s second largest public health insurer, Dovera, introduced e-prescriptions three years ago, while Union, which is the country’s smallest health insurer, started the launch of e-prescribing in January.
