Infographic: Private healthcare in Poland 2017

Consistent with our forecasts, the share of private healthcare expenditure is rising steadily, making up a growing proportion of total healthcare spending in Poland. This trend will continue in the years ahead. The situation on the private healthcare market is also partly determined by the extent to which the public sector is able to satisfy people’s health needs. Two key factors will drive growth in public spending on healthcare in Poland in the coming years, namely GDP growth and the size of the post-working age population (women aged over 60 years and men aged over 65 years). In our view, however, it is not very likely that public healthcare spending as a share of GDP will increase to the level currently targeted by the Ministry of Health.
