Remedia, the Romanian drug distributor and retailer, has reported RON 91m (€21.4m) sales revenues for the first six months of 2010, 21.4% more than in the comparable period of the previous year. The firm's profit rose nine times to RON 1.5m (€0.4m).
Remedia is one of the top 10 drug distributors in Romania. Its distribution division supplies drugs to approximately 2,000 of Romanian pharmacies and the target for 2010 is to increase this number to 2,150. The company operates a chain of 53 pharmacies in western Romania. This year it plans to add two more pharmacies to its chain. The hospital division of Remedia collaborates with 418 hospitals in Romania.
For 2010, Remedia has forecast sales of RON 177m (€41.6m) and a net profit of RON 3m (€0.7m). The company aims to spend up to RON 2.7m (€0.6m) on investments in 2010; 75% of which will be financed from its own resources.
