More than half of all deaths in Slovakia caused by cardiovascular diseases

Cardiovascular diseases resulted last year in 28,265 deaths, reported the Slovak Statistical Office. The cardiovascular illnesses caused more than a half of all deaths in Slovakia, which is one of the worst statistics in Europe.
The most common cause of death was
ischaemic heart disease, costing 13,277 lives, and myocardial infarction resulting in 3,431 deaths.
