6% drop of H1 sales of Stada Arzneimittel in Czech Republic

In the first six months of 2010
Aliud Pharma, the Czech subsidiary of
Stada Arzneimittel, the German generic drugs manufacturer, generated sales of €5.5m in the Czech Republic, a decrease of 6% in comparison with the same period of 2009. After adjustments due to the changes in the group portfolio and exchange rate movements, the sales decreased by 9%.
The major activity was sales of generic drugs, which in H1 2010 accounted for €4.7m, down by 2% y-o-y. Sales of branded products decreased by 22% y-o-y to €0.9m.In 2009 the sales of Stada in the Czech Republic increased by 30% in local currency or by 23% in euro equivalent, reaching €12.2m. In 2008 the sales were €10m.
