12.5% growth for pharmaceutical manufacturers revenues in 2009 in Hungary

The value of revenues of pharmaceutical manufacturers in Hungary has increased 12.5% y-o-y, according to the industrial data of the Hungarian Central Statistical Agency (KSH) published in June 2010. Export revenues were worth HUF 434bn (€1.5bn) of the HUF 565bn (€2.3bn) of total sector's revenues in 2009. Thus, the expansion of export sales served as the main engine of growth, the forint’s weakening and the expanding investments in Hungary of the large pharmaceutical companies have also contributed to the Hungarian companies’ profit increase.
