Synexus, a UK-based company specialised in patient recruitment and clinical trials, announced 25% growth of its business in Hungary in H1 2010. The company’s Dedicated Research Centre, established in 2006 in Budapest, has proven to be one of the most successful Synexus’ sites in the CEE region. Since 2006 the unit has been involved in 74 trials and randomized more than 600 patients.
Dr Erika Nemeth, Synexus’ Country Manager, expects the trend to continue because of high medical and R&D development expertise in Hungary which assure high trial participation rates. The prevalence of chronic cardiovascular diseases and lung diseases, together with little preventive measures, make Hungary an attractive site for clinical trials.
According to Michael Fort, company’s CEO, Synexus expects to take advantage of the positive conditions in the Hungarian market of clinical trials and to continue to be active in Hungary as well as in other countries of the CEE region, i.e. Poland and Ukraine.
