30% increase in A&D Pharma sales revenues in Romania in H1 2010

A&D Pharma, the leading pharmaceutical wholesale, sales and marketing services and drug retail company in Romania, has reported a 30% increase in euro denominated sales revenues to €303.2m in the first six months of this year. Its net profit increased by 90% to €17.45m in H1 2010.
The most productive division in the group was drug distribution, operated by A&D Pharma’s subsidiary,
Mediplus, which increased its market share of Romanian hospital sales to 20.6%. Mediplus generated sales revenues of €249m in H1 2010, a 51% increase in comparison with H1 2009. The optimisation of drug distribution logistics helped the division to make an operational profit of €20.1m in H1 2010.
Sensiblu, the
drug retailing arm of A&D Pharma, reported a 37% increase in sales revenues to €119.1m and an operating profit of €6.6m (an increase of more than threefold in comparison with €1.6m in H1 2009).
A&D Pharma is the largest pharmaceutical group in Romania and operates 230 Sensiblu pharmacies, a wholesale division which supplies medicines to 75% of Romanian pharmacies, and a marketing & sales division responsible for the promotion of new pharmaceuticals on the market, along with consultancy and support for drug manufacturers in Romania.
