Sopharma sales continue to improve
2010-07-07
Sopharma’s sales increased both at home and abroad in June. Domestic sales increased by 2% month-on-month and international sales by 66% month-on-month. This constituted an overall increase of 23%. During the course of H1 2010, domestic sales remained stable in comparison with H1 2009, whereas international sales increased by 38%.
The sluggish increase in domestic sales is attributed to delays in payments by the National Health Insurance Fund, in addition to changes in the
distribution market (for example, the sale of the major distributor
Higia by Actavis). The increase in international sales is largely attributable to the company’s new markets in Turkey and Ukraine. Profit also increased, by 36% year on year in Q1 2010, as a result of international expansion, to BGN 13m (€6.6m).
