Slovak Health Ministry invites applications for financing of healthcare projects

The Slovak Ministry of Health has invited Slovak healthcare facilities to apply for non-repayable financial assistance, the news agency SITA has reported. The total amount of financial resources is €8m and will be available to finance projects aimed at the modernisation of equipment in primary care facilities, namely those providing services in the field of cardiovascular, oncology, respiratory, gastroenterology diseases and diseases caused by external factors. All the projects must in addition be part of local strategies aimed at facilitating access to healthcare of marginalized Roma communities. The healthcare facilities can apply for a minimum €0.35m, whilst the maximum amount is €2m. The applications submission deadline is 26 May 2010. The money comes both from the EU Operational Programme Health and from the state budget.
