HUF 1.6bn to be spent on healthcare developments in Bekes

Three major investments in healthcare infrastructure, worth HUF 1.6bn (€6m) between them, will be pursued in the county of Bekes in Hungary. The Mezokovacshaza healthcare institute is planning to spend HUF 500m (€1.85m) on the development and purchase of new equipment. 42% of this amount, i.e. HUF 210m (€0.8m), is to be spent on the reconstruction of the building, whereas the rest is to be spent on IT systems and the purchase of a new X-ray machine, along with USG and laboratory equipment. The institute is due to reopen in January 2011, after the construction work has been completed.
The complex reconstruction of a clinic in the town of Szarvas is expected to cost HUF 600m (€2.2m). The clinic will receive new surgical equipment and a modern IT system. The project is due to be completed by September 2011.
The third project, worth HUF 500m (€1.95m), will involve the modernisation of outpatient services in the town of Bekes. The main aim of the investment is to develop locomotor rehabilitation facilities. In addition to the construction work, a modern digital imaging unit will be developed and other diagnostic equipment purchased.
