Hungarian state sells off former hospitals’ real estate property
2010-02-23
The Hungarian State Holding Company (MNV), the operator of the state-owned property, has announced a tender for purchasing the premises of Svabhegyi Children Hospital in Budapest which was closed three years ago. The bids for the purchase are to be submitted until 1 March.
MNV encountered difficulties selling the premises of the other former Hungarian hospitals. It succeeded to sell one building of the former National Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, but the hospital’s surrounding area and its two other buildings have not found buyers so far. The MNV also carries out litigation against an unnamed company about the rental rights to the former National Medicinal Centre, thus its premises are expected to be sold in the second half of 2010.
The MNV has already sold the movable property of the three hospitals to the National Institute of Medicinal Assets Management (EKI) for the amount of HUF 49m (€0.18m).
