Dietary supplement sales worth €3m for Secom in 2009

Secom, an importer of dietary supplements to Romania, reported sales worth €3m in 2009, according to Business Daily. The company boasted a 75% increase in revenue last year, but its initial goal had been to double its sales to €3.4m.
In 2009 Secom invested €0.5m to increase the number of its sales representatives and to develop its infrastructure, marketing and promotional activities. The company created a partnership with the Dona pharmacy chain and developed its cooperation with other pharmacies. At the beginning of 2010 it was, therefore, present in more than 1,000 pharmacies in Romania. In 2010 it is aiming to achieve sales revenues of €5m.
The Romanian dietary supplement retail market was worth €110m in 2008, and it is estimated that it grew at a rate of 10% in 2009.
