The Bulgaria's Health Ministry has launched a national campaign to promote early diagnosis of prostate cancer. As part of the campaign, free check-ups will be offered in several Bulgarian towns between 15 March and 15 May 2010, and 5,000 men in the group at risk, those of 50 or more years of age, are expected to be checked.
Prostate cancer is the third most common malignant condition among men in Bulgaria and occurs in 42 of every 100,000 men.
