11.3% growth on Bulgarian dietary supplement market in 2009

In 2009, the Bulgarian dietary supplement market grew by as much as 11.3% year on year, according to IMS. The most popular dietary supplements were vitamins and minerals, which had a 15% market share, and these were followed by immune system boosters.
The best-selling dietary supplements were Centrum A to Zinc (
Pfizer), Neorenal (
Neopharm) and Citrosept (
Cintamani).
The market leader in terms of dietary supplements was
Walmark, whose revenues reached BGN 10.7m (€5.5m). This was followed by
Wyeth whose sales were worth half those of Walmark (BGN 5.2m, or €2.7m).
