Czech drug manufacturers association elects new board

The Czech Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (CAFF) has elected its Board of Directors for a new two-year term. Zdenek Zahradnik from Teva Pharmaceuticals was reelected for the position of the Board’s Chair, whilst Renata Horka from Zentiva was once again entrusted with the position of the Board’s Vice-Chair. This year two additional members were added to the Board: Marek Prihoda and Vojtech Meszaros, both from Egis Praha. The CAFF decided to enlarge the Board because it wants to increase its activities and visibility in 2010 and 2011. The association admits that to date it has played a rather passive role in defending the interests of generic companies it represents, but this year it intends to change this approach and become more active in this field. Excluding the chair and the vice-chair, the board will now consist of 7 members from various companies, including: ratiopharm, Zentiva, Krka, Medicom, Egis Praha and Sandoz.
