Carolina Medical Center(CMC), a Warsaw-based specialist sports medicine & orthopaedic care provider, has moved to a new, 34-bed clinic located in a six-storey building in Warsaw’s Mokotow district. The clinic offers comprehensive treatment of wounds and injuries, from specialist consultations (in areas including orthopaedics, traumatology but also rheumatology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, rheumo-orthopaedics and neurology) through diagnostics, conservative treatment, physiotherapy and (shortly) surgery. The diagnostic lab is equipped with X-ray, USG and MRI scanners, and is about to get a computed tomography device as well.
In November 2009 the company estimated the total cost of the facility at PLN 65m (€16.1m), of which PLN 12m (€3m) was to be spent on diagnostic equipment (including a CT scanner).
CMC is planning expansion beyond its home market of Mazowieckie voivodship and the establishment of rehabilitation centres in major cities such as Krakow, Wroclaw, Lublin and Gdansk. There are also plans for a third clinic in Warsaw. The strategic objective is to achieve PLN 100-200m (24.7-49.5m) in revenues.
In 2008 (latest data available) CMC generated revenues of PLN 21.5m (€5.3m) and made a net profit of PLN 1.1m (€0.27m).
CMC’s business model is based entirely on walk-in commercial patients.
