Merger of Sopharma’s trading and logistics divisions

Sopharma, the foremost Bulgarian pharmaceutical manufacturer, has announced the merger of two of its subsidiaries,
Sopharma Trading, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, and
Sopharma Logistics. The merger was signed on 13 January 2010 and is subject to the approval of the Financial Supervisory Commission. The deal is part of a consolidation and restructuring programme which was announced by Sopharma in mid-2009. The integration into Sopharma’s business of three associated entities:
Blgarska Rosa-Sevtopolis,
Unipharm and
Medica, reported in
Central Europe Pharma News in June 2009, is also part of this consolidation.
Sopharma Trading’s sales were worth BGN 355m (€181m) in 2009, an 8.1% year-on-year increase.
