German biopharma firm creates antibody spinoff in Plzen

Affirmed Therapeutics, a German biopharmaceutical company specialising in the development of recombinant antibodies, announced the establishment of AbCheck, a spin-off based in Plzen in the Czech Republic that will concentrate its antibody discovery activities.
AbCheck, which focuses on customised antibody discovery and generation for therapeutic applications, will also provide antibody discovery and engineering services to other biotech and pharma companies. The objective is to commercialise Affirmed Therapeutics’ discovery expertise and proprietary technology.
The move reflects a strategic refocus at Affirmed Therapeutics, which will become a drug development company focused exclusively on the development of in-house drug candidates.
