The Austria-based healthcare operator Vamed has expanded its operations by taking over Mediterra, a Czech healthcare provider which caters for famous Czech sportsmen, according to a report in Hospodarske Noviny. The former will consider and analyse further possible acquisitions in the Czech Republic should they arise in the future.
Both parties refused to disclose the price paid by Vamed for the takeover.
Vamed is a global company involved in planning, building and managing complex public health service installations, in addition to providing health tourism services, prevention and treatment procedures and care for the elderly. Mediterra runs four healthcare facilities in the country, and its clients include famous Czech sports stars. The company’s facilities offer a wide range of healthcare services, including orthopaedics, one-day surgery, dermatology, physiotherapy and other services.
