Ceska lekarna: turnover up by half

The owner of the
Dr. Max pharmacies in the
Czech Republic,
Ceska lekarna, reported a turnover of CZK 3.7bn (€144.89m) in 2008 – a significant growth in comparison with the CZK 2.5bn (€97.89m) recorded in 2007. The company’s net profit increased by CZK 55m (€2.15m) and amounted to CZK 95m (€3.72m).
At the end of last year Ceska lekarna operated 110 pharmacies under the Dr. Max banner. The company launched 23 new pharmacies in 2008. Further openings, as well as acquisitions are planned for 2009.
